RODENTS PEST CONTROL

Rodents comprise of squirrels and house mouse, Norway rat and bandicoots which are the most destructive urban pests. They are normally active in night.

They have the ability for structural and property damage. Also they damage short circuits wires; computer wires other network wires, gas pipes and water pipes, contaminate the food material.

They transmit diseases to humans such as rat bit fever; leptospirosis (liver contaminated water with rat urine), plague, also humans can experience sneezing and other allergic reactions through dropping and shedding of hairs.

The life span of rats is around 1 year to 3 year. They have excellent senses of taste and good memory .

The life span of bandicoots is around three year where as the house rat is one year.

The maturity period is 60 days of the bandicoot rats and 3 to 4 weeks of the house rat. The gestation period is 3 weeks.

One female bandicoots rats can deliver around 200 to 250littler (baby) and house mouse can deliver 150-250 littler (baby) in a year in suitable conditions.

Method of Treatment

The treatment is done by using the combination of baiting, trapping and proofing methods in order to control rats and mice.

Baiting : The treatment is carried out with Bromodiolene cakes & zinc phosphates baiting in order to control the populations of rodents in the premises which is very challenging task. Hence in order to be succeed in the treatment in terms of reducing the population.

The treatment should be done in combination of trapping, baiting and proofing method.

Trapping : The treatment is carried out by using glue-traps, rodent bait stations, rodent cages etc. in order to trap the rodent in the premises which will protect the premises from various damages caused due to rodents.

Proofing method : The treatment is carried whereby we give suggestion to our client after the inspection of the premises in term of precautions to be taken from the customer point of view. As well as we give service to our clients in terms of fixing the rodent guard pipes in drainage area, A/C pipes, Cable Wires, Gas pipes etc. So that rodents won’t be able to climb up through the pipes and enter the premises

Commercial Area : It is advisable to fix up rodent guard pipes and rodent bait station in the surrounding of the building in order to control the population of the rodents. Through the rodent guard pipes, the rodent won’t be able to climb up. The installation of rodent bait station will protect the bait/glue pad from external environment and non targeted animals.

Preventive Measures of Rodents :

• All the holes in the building and in the residential area should be closed.
• The door should be closed properly there should not be any hole in the entrances of the door and surrounding of the premises should be cleaned.
• The garbage area should be cleaned and the lid of the dustbin should be covered.
• It is advisable to use rodent bait station in the surrounding of the building and this will protect the bait/glue pad inside. Also this will not be a target for any pests.
• Rodent guard pipes should be placed on the drainage pipes of the building so that rodent wouldn’t climb through the pipes and enter the premises.
• There should be proper pairing of the cable wires, ac wires etc. in the building.
• The branches of the trees should be cut from the building at the distance of 1and half foot.
